The film is based around the Pakistani Army,Pakistani Police PSP officers intelligence,law and government’s fight against terrorism.It has been inspired by actual events occurred in the country.

Main Hoon Shahid Afridi: The Fragrance of Freedom is an upcoming Pakistani Urdu Language film directed by Ismail Jilani. The film is produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Shahzad Nawaz under the banner of 7th Sky Films and Couple Films. The film stars Salmaan Peerzada, Khalid Ahmed, Maira Khan, Shafqat Cheema, Hamza Abbasi, Sadia Hayat, Saiqa, Ali Tahir, Ethisham, Khalid Qureshi, Fatima, Humayun Bin Rathor and Shahzad Nawaz. Ghulam Mohiuddin is said to make a guest appearence in the movie. The film is set to release on Pakistan day, 2013.
The film is based on an unforgettable saga of courage, romance and sacrifice of a group of friends who are led by circumstances and incidences to find themselves at the crossroads of fate.
The music of the film is composed by Najam Sheraz. The first song of the film Dil Bolay has been released recently
